In his own words, here’s what Club member Jim Holland of Monroeville, PA, did to win HANDY’s first-ever Best Kitchen Project Contest:
“My partner and I were given the opportunity to design a kitchen for my parents. We are both novices at doing home projects, but we greatly enjoy doing the work. We especially like seeing the results and the smiles on people’s faces when they see the finished product. Our goal was to give my parents a kitchen that would raise the resale value of their home without breaking the bank. In the end, we were able to complete the kitchen with top-of-the-line cabinets, a tile floor and a solid-surface countertop—all for under $10,000, which even includes the plumbing and electrical work that we did. We completely transformed their kitchen from something old and outdated to something fresh, new and modern. We hope you can see the hard work, dedication and determination that we put into this kitchen.” —Jim Holland
Jim will receive an R92234 JobMax Kit from Ridgid, which includes a 12-volt sub-compact drill (Photo1) and a 12-volt power base with two interchangeable heads: a multi-tool with accessories and an auto hammer (Photos 2, 3 and 4).
