Rivets speed assembly and add character to this simple metalworking project

The chandelier shown is made of 1/8-in.- thick x 1-in.-wide flat steel stock and is 18 in. dia. x 9 in. tall. This type of project has no right or wrong dimensions; you should make it fit the space where you intend to hang it.

A suggestion when drilling holes foe rivets drill 1/32 " over size
This will make inserting the rivet easier into the hole
when you upset the rivet either w/ the pop tool the diameter of the rivet will expand to fill the 1/64" gap between the rivet and the piece Have been doing this for 50 + yrs and have had good luck w/o failure
but the 1/4" dia. rivet goes in faster in a 9/32" dia. hole especially when trying to do it thru two pieces on material tip

I read the article in the magazine, it covered a lot but I did not see a section on how long of a head should be on the rivit. What is the rule of thumb for how much head shoud protrude? I have found that some pieces have a little movment still after the rivit has popped. Thanks
