Powered by three D batteries that should last for more than a year, the Outdoor Security Spotlight is a motion-sensor LED spotlight that shines 140 lumens of bright, white light over more than 350 sq. ft. It easily mounts onto two screws on any outdoor apparatus without the need for electrical wiring, and it detects movement up to 30 ft. away. The fixture pivots and rotates so you can select exactly where the light will shine, and you can also adjust the brightness and the automatic shutoff setting time (from 30 seconds to two minutes). Wireless Environment, LLC, 877-298-9082, www.mrbeams.com.

Tom Hooker, Taylor, MI

“Absolutely no wiring needed for the Outdoor Security Spotlight! Just mount it, aim it, and walk away [in a lighted path]. The low brightness setting provides more light than I need.”

Mike Bowgren, Batavia, IL

“The ease of installation and sturdy construction of the security light are awesome. With the Handyman Club discount, I’ll be buying a few more lights – way easier than running wires.”

I live in Northern Maine and I was wondering how this light holds up in the winter temperatures and icy conditions.....

I'd highly recommend it: We live in northcentral Wisconsin, east of the Twin Cities. It's been in use through last winter and still works well as we approach our "dark season"! I may replace the batteries before it gets bitterly cold, but am very happy with its operation. It has a very bright light, is quick to come on, and makes it so easy when we come in through the "wrong" door of our huge, dark farm shop! My wife loves it when she pulls the car in during the bitter cold & doesn't need to find the overhead lightswitch just to leave the building!
